PC-Side Test Adapters — Simulating Terminal Signals
Two accessory cables allow a PC to emulate the terminal device, so the full DTU passthrough chain can be verified on a bench without external equipment.
Quick Start — DTU Data Passthrough Test
Typical use of this tool kit by technical support engineers.
1
Power on
Connect the DC lead to a DC 9–25V adapter (red = DC+, black = DC−). The POWER LED turns on; NET indicates 4G network registration.
2
Configure
Plug the DEBUG USB cable into a PC. Open a serial terminal to configure network and serial parameters of the DTU.
3
Connect device under test
Attach the RS232 lead (TXD / RXD / G, DB9) or the RS485 lead (A+ red / B− black) to the device under test — or to a PC via the RS232-to-USB / RS485-to-USB adapter to simulate the terminal signals.
4
Verify passthrough
Send data from the serial side and confirm it is delivered over the 4G network — and vice versa.
